Sixmilebridge 1-20 Inagh/Kilnamona 1-20

The Bridge were at home for round 5 of the Clare Cup this evening and following a hammering in the last round against Kilmaley were in a determined mood this evening for a battle with recently crowned U21A champions Inagh/Kilnamona. The combo are under new manager Fergal Hegarty who guided Ballyea to Munster club glory recently and are many peoples tip to lift the Canon in 2018.

Jamie Shanahan lining out at Centre forward was outstanding throughout with 6 points of his 14 coming from play and along with Brian Corry who hit 1-03 over the hour caused plenty of headaches for the visitors defence. The Bridge lead 1-13 to 0-09 at half time and stretched the lead to 8 points 5 minutes into the second half before Inagh/Kilnamona kicked into gear and clawed themselves back into the game qhich culminated in an injury time point for a share of the spoils.

This results leave the Bridge on 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss so 6 points out of 10 from 5 rounds.
