Sadly another great club stalwart passed away yesterday. Seamus O' Halloran of Cappa, Sixmilebridge finally succumbed to a longstanding illness which he fought bravely.

Seamus has served the club with distinction down through the years, serving at different times and for various terms as Minor club treasurer, Senior club treasuer, County board representative, Development committee member for O' Garney Park pitch, hall and clubhouse development in the early 80s as well as playing at all grades underage and junior adult hurling. He played his part on the team which won the first U21 championship which came to Sixmilebridge in 1971. Seamus also served as selector with many teams and was part of the backroom team that brought the U14 Feile back to Sixmilebridge in the hot Summer of 1995. Seamus is a nephew of Tom Quinn of the Forge and Seamus' children, Mary, Ann, Michael, Gerry, Bridgid and Paul have all donned the saffron and Blue at some stage.

The club would like to express their deepest sympathies to the O' Halloran family and there will be a guard of honour at the Square from 745pm. All members are asked to wear club colours for the Guard of honour.
