And the rain poured on and on and on... but that did not deter our U13 Academy team supported by nine U11s on Friday evening, 5-Jun-26 in their game against Clooney Quin at Clooney Quin GAA pitch. 

The girls played well in the tough conditions but struggled to get scores and were scoreless at halftime.  Their extra efforts in the second half yielded one goal and one point.  Clooney Quin were winners on the day.

Thank you to all involved and well done to the girls for persevering through the wet weather with good spirits and smiles!  

Clare Community Games Camogie was held at Kilmaley GAA pitch on Saturday morning, 6-Jun-26.  Nine teams participated in this event.

Thank you to Kilmaley for hosting, it was a very well organised tournament, the games seemed to run on time and the baked goods, sandwiches and other goodies supplied by the hosts were enjoyed by all!  

The event coordinator, Anne McMahon noted that Sixmilebridge has been a consistent supporter of this event over the years. 

The weather was somewhat kind in that was blustery and only rained intermittently!

 Our first game was against Kilmaley, we were losing at half time but dug deep in the second half to win the match. 

The second match was against Crusheen, Crusheen were strong opponents who won this match. 

Our third and final game was against Broadford-Kilbane-Kilmore for 3rd place which Sixmilebridge won.

It was a joy seeing the girls so happy winning two matches and receiving their bronze medals. Each of the girls worked really hard at each of their games and their efforts reaped just rewards.  The skills learned and practiced over the last several months were evident at each match e.g. jab lifting, blocking and tackling, striking and team play.
