We welcomed Clarecastle to Cappaghlodge on Wednesday, 30 June 2026, for our opening fixture in the U14A Championship. Conditions were far from ideal, with strong winds and persistent rain ensuring both teams were well tested from the outset.

Despite the challenging weather, both sides showed great determination and work rate, battling hard throughout. It was an evenly matched and competitive game, with plenty of skill and commitment on display from start to finish. Our girls worked the ball well and created several scoring opportunities, but unfortunately, we were unable to convert a few clear goal chances that could have made the difference on the scoreboard.

While Clarecastle won the match, it was a positive first outing for us in the championship, with strong performances across the pitch and plenty of encouragement to take forward into the remaining games.
