A storming comeback from the U13As this morning against neighbours Newmarket in the quarter final of the championship saw the Bridge eventually win out the tie. Newmarket started best and in the first 15 minutes had blitzed the Bridge with 4 goals and 2 points which went unanswered in the first quarter. The hydration break came at the right time for the Bridge allowing them to regroup and along with some positional changes allowed them to come back into the game. A goal straight after the restart was the beginning of the comeback. The Bridge put another 3 past the Newmarket goalkeeper before half time as well as securing a point to leave them trailing by 1 point at half time.

The second half saw the Bridge carry on the momentum they had gathered in the latter stages of the first half. And after each team traded points, by the 40th minute the Bridge were ahead by a goal. The Bridge had the majority of the play from here on and were able to tack on another 3 goals in the half along with finishing with a great points tally of 16 points.

A great team effort by all with some excellent individual performances from Joe Madden in the forwards as well as Ewan Morey in the backs and Shane Fitzpatrick also in the various parts of the field he found himself in.

A semi final now beckons for the 13As in a couple of weeks time against Kilmaley. Doora Barefield will play Crusheen in the other semi final.
