In the week of a County Senior Final, and indeed in the past month where ALL 4 Sixmilebridge adult squads reached their respective semi-finals (and Finals in 3 cases), it’d be natural for all those players and supporters to reflect on the many people who helped get them to this stage of their career where they can play to the best of their abilities at their chosen level.
We in the ‘Bridge have been lucky that so many Families and their network of friends have kept the interest and enthusiasm going in the current generation of Adult players.
We should also be grateful for the many quality hours a lot of very good Coaches have put into the current players in the last 10 -20 years, and they will have enjoyed the fruits of their work over the past month, culminating in Blue Riband Day next Sunday.
But as we all know, the wheel keeps turning and the next generation have to be given every chance to shine on the fields of Clare and beyond, just like the current Adult players.
With that in mind, we’d like to appeal to all those who have completed Foundation Coaching courses over the years to consider enrolling in an upcoming Level 1 Course for Coaching Boys and Girls up to 12 years of age,
Venue: St Joseph’s Secondary School Tulla
Dates: 6 Thursdays starting on 22nd October.
We in the ‘Bridge are lucky to have so many enthusiastic kids coming to our 2 pitches for regular coaching, and all the signs are that we have a very exciting generation of players from U6 to U12 who will be ready to come off the conveyor belt with the right guidance, in about 8-10 years time when the current lads(and maybe Gilly at that stage!!) are ready to pass on the Torch.....
Also worth bearing in mind that we as a Club are obliged to comply with GAA Regulations which require ALL teams to have at least one Level 1 Qualified Coach per each squad. So this course is perfect for that U6 to U12 bracket and the multitude of players we have.
