Sixmilebridge 0-18 Crusheen 1-13

The Bridge completed their domestic hurling campaign with 15 wins from 15 games in both Championship and League for 2015. This achievement was underlined by todays opposition Crusheen in the 2015 Clare Cup final played in excellent conditions in Wolfe Tones Na Sionna.

New Clare hurling coach Donal Og Cusack was in attendance with Bridge man Davy Fitz to view the Bridge capture their 13th Clare hurling league title completing the domestic double for the 4th time (1979, 1989, 2000, 2015).

Fresh from the disappontment of last weeks munster club loss the Bridge were determined to end the year on a positive note and Crusheen for their part were driven for a third time lucky win following double championship defeats this year to the Garney siders. The Bridge sideline mimicked that of a Casualty ward in Limerick Hospital with Captain Caimin Morey (Groin), Brian Corry (Knee) and Cathal Malone (Foot) all sitting this one out which meant Kevin Lynch, Danny Morey and Pa Shehan got the nod. Vice Captain Paidi Fitzpatrick lead the team out and was an inspirational figure throughout the hour.

The Bridge lead at hald time by 3 points on a scoreline of 0-12 to 1-06. The second hald was a very close affair with only a couple of points ever between the teams but the Bridge boys drove on to finish stronger and add the Clare Cup to their Championship win last month. Paidi Fitzpatrick accepted the cup on behalf of the winners and was high in his praise for club sponsor Dominic Murphy of Shannon Precision Engineering as well as the players, Team management and Club.
