While Santa Claus is not due to the village for another few days a present in the form of a steel structure was delivered this week by Taaffe Engineering with the main frame for the new indoor arena now in place. What started with a single pillar on Tuesday by the end of the week provided a glimpse of the state of the art facility that will soon exist for the community of Sixmilebridge/Kilmurry and beyond.

Project Milestones for 2018

• December 2018 - Steel Structure in place
• November 2018 - Foundations laid
• August 2018 - Excavation works at site
• June 2018 - Turning of the sod

We are now determined to keep the momentum going with the project which when finished will be a 60mx30m arena making it the largest indoor sporting arena in the West of Ireland. The next phase will see the construction of side walls and roofing with a projected timeline of March 2019 to have the arena enclosed.

Following from the huge community weekend in December 2017 with highlights being Strictly and Stars in their eyes our next big event is on April 27th and again its for all the community and beyond with the main event being Clares Fittest Superstars. A family day will take place around the event in O'Garney park with plenty of opportunity for the kids to check their own ability to try out the sporting challenges and obstacles including the Hang Tough.
