In a bumper weekend for the Bridge Bucks Academy where our U9s were in Kinvara, U10s in Newtownshandrum on Saturday it was our U8s who were under the spotlight on Sunday in the annual Kilmurry harvest festival tournament involving Newmarket, Clonlara, Cratloe and ourselves.

The Bridge played Cratloe in the Garneyside derby in the semi final and after a very close battle emerged winners on a score of 1-05 to 1-01. Newmarket recorded a big win over Clonlara in the second semi final by 4-3 Clonlara 0-0 to setup a rematch of the 2018 final.

First up was the shield final which Cratloe won against Clonlara followed by the meeting of the Bridge and the Blues which Newmarket won on a score of 3-03 to 3-01.

Our lads played some excellent hurling throughout and were unlucky to lose out with some outstanding performance throughout the 2 games which had coaches Martin Conlon, Iceman, Paul Fitz, Sean Lynch and Helen Seago beaming. Back to training for the boys tonight as we prepare for the remaining 2 months of training with plenty more games and Blitz to play before the season ends.

Thanks to Kilmurry Harvest festival for organizing a super tournament, both referees for giving up their time, our supporters and parents as always. Well done to Newmarket on the win and we look forward to Kilmurry 2020 already.
