Saturday morning had an early start to packed day of hurling for our boys when we hosted Michael Cusacks from South Galway in our now yearly Blitz. Michael Cusacks are a combination of Beagh and Kilbecanty and are regular visitors to the Bridge at this stage and always provide a great battle for our boys. Today was no different as the Galway outfit, professional as ever arrived by bus for the 10am start in what were very wet and slippery conditions.

The Bridge fielded 6 teams while the visitors brought 4 and we played 3 games (7 a side) 10 minutes a side in what was a really entertaining morning of hurling. Despite the conditions the skills including first touch, rising and ball handling were exemplary as both supporters from both sides clapped in admiration for the young warriors.

Following the games the players enjoyed some fine dining provided by the Moms of our boys for which we are very grateful while the dads tried to source a power hose to clean the boys off before letting them into their cars for the journey home! Following the games alot of our boys went on to Shannon to support our U16s who qualified for the county final and then on to the Park to shout the Seniors on in their win to qualify for the Senior county final.

All in all it was a dream day for the club with the Bucks, 16s and Seniors all excelling - Thanks to Cusacks for the visit and we look forward to clashing hurls again soon. Thanks also to all the coaches, parents, supporters, catering crew and bakers.
