4th weekend in a row on the road for the U10s who took the short trip up the motorway to take part in the annual Niall Donohue U10 Festival of Hurling, hosted by the Michael Cusacks club in Kilbecanty today. This tournament consisted of two competitions - a Cup competition and a Shield competition with Sixmilebridge fielding a team in both. Joining Sixmilebridge were the hosts, Glen Rovers of Cork and Murroe Boher of Limerick.

Proceedings got under way at 10:30 with the Child of Prague doing the trick as the rain kept at bay for most of the day. All teams in the tournament were very evenly matched with most games being decided by a puck of a ball. As we've come to expect from this group there were great displays throughout the day with the boys giving their all from the off. Neither of our teams made the finals but they did compete in the 3rd\4th playoff with the Shield team defeating the hosts and the Cup team proving victorious over Glen Rovers.

Many thanks to Michael Cusacks for inviting us to their tournament - it was superbly organized day with the standard of hurling very high. Congratulations to Murroe Boher who emerged winners in both the Cup and Shield competitons - a great achievement.

The Under 10 season is rapidly coming to an end. Next weekend (5th and 6th Oct) promises to be busy with us hosting a blitz in O'Garney Park on Saturday and attending a blitz in Ballyhea (Cork) on Sunday. We will also start our end of season 'Sixmilebridge League' this Thursday evening which will run through to the end of the season.

Date for your diary: The final night of U10 hurling for 2019 will be Saturday October 19th (from 6-8:30pm).
