Today marks the start of the return to the playing fields for our young hurlers - In preparation for the new season John Corbett & Christy Murray have been busy with their field committees preparing the surface, goals and nets, John Moloney has been ensuring all our coaches are vetted and safeguarded while Grace Fawl has ensured we all get time on the hallowed surfaces of O'Garney Park and Cappa Lodge to develop the skills of our next generation.

2020 was a very successful season for the club with the capturing of our 14th U14A Hurling title and the defence of the Canon Hamilton Senior title bringing our count to 15 but as always we are looking to improve on how we operate. The club is blessed with huge numbers at underage and this season the Bridge Bucks Coaches (U4-U11) have put a big emphasis on a giving back campaign to encourage current players and ex players to help out with our Bucks. The response has been very encouraging with all teams successfully recruiting new coaches.

Evan Murphy, Colm & Noel Flynn, Conor Murphy, Cillian Custy and Dara Casey have all joined the U11 squad which has the larges number of players (58) in an age group to go through the club so maintaining a low player to coach ratio is essential.

Brian Corry, Jimmy Corbett and Shammy Carr have joined the U9 Bucks who have also secured the services of master tactician PJ Mac Giolla Phadraig for another season.

Anyone else who would be interested in helping out irrespective of your hurling experience please check out the training schedule below and get in contact with one of the coaches at that age group and you will be very welcome.

Before returning to the pitch remember you must have paid your membership - this will be one less chasing jobs for our coaches if we get this done as soon as possible here:

Also remember to install ClubZap (see below) to receive all communication re: training and in order to complete your Medical Consent Form to comply with the Covid policies of the GAA and the club.

We look forward to welcoming you all back to the field - Mol an Óige!
