Uachtarán CLG Larry McCarthy was guest of Honour in O Garney Park on Thursday last to Present the 2020 Senior Championship Medals to the Sixmilebridge Team who captured their 15th Canon Hamilton Title at the end of last year. He informed the gathering, which was restricted due to covid requirements, that this was his first presentation of Medals in his new capacity as President. He complimented the Club and Team on their success and wished them the best going forward. His tour of the Arena was greeted with “a real step going forward” as he viewed the development which hopefully will be active over the next couple of Months.

He also made lifetime membership presentations to a number of people in the Club, and Honorary members as well.

President of the Club John Corbett made a special presentation to Tony and Francis Downes for their Contribution to the Club over a long number of years.

Chairman of the County Board Jack Chaplin complimented the Club on their continued Success, both on and off the field.

Acting Chairman of the Club Declan Murphy (Kilmurry) had a special word of thanks for the President, and said it was an Honour for the Club, to have him “especially in the times were in “as our special guest.

Derek Fahy won the Player of the year, receiving his presentation from Team Manager Tim Crowe. Refreshments were served at the end of the evening and thanks also to our U8 & U9 hurlers who played an exhibition game for the president in the background.

We all look forward to welcoming Larry back to the Bridge in the near future.
