Sixmilebridge 2-16 Scariff 1-17

The Bridge maintained their unbeaten run in this years Senior championship with a 2 point win over Scariff at Cusack Park on Sunday. This means the Bridge now top their group and enter the quarter final as a seeded team in 4 weeks time.

Having already secured their place in the knockout stages the Bridge were always going to face a massive battle from the East Clare side who were fighting for the second qualification spot in the group. The sides traded scores early in the game before the Bridge opened a 6 point lead with goals from Seadna Morey and Jason Loughnane. Loughys goal was team work personified as they worked the ball oout of the full backline through the channels the whole way to the inside forward line and no better man to finish when he is on song.

However Scariff fought back and raised a green flag of their own and started to bring Mark Rogers more into the game which resulted in a 5 point haul from play over the hour. The experience stood to the Bridge and they saw out the game with a monster point from Caimin Morey and late points form alan Mulready and substitute Conor Deasy.
