TLast Sunday St Brendans GAA Club were crowned Dublin Junior Camogie Champions for the first time when they defeated Wild Geese on a score of 6-04 to 3-03 at Oldtown. The winners were captained by one of our own Kate Reddan who scored 2 goals in the final.
The team was formed earlier this year by a gang of friends including herself and Erin Fadian who got their friends and work colleagues together, starting off with 12 players and ending the season with 36 players. According to Kate, with Coppers closed and no opportunity to score off the field more and more started turning up for training with notions of scoring on the field which laid the foundations for this historic win!
Talks of a team holiday abroad have been greatly exaggerated according to Kate but she does expect them to visit the Banner county on their celebration tour and call into the Bridge with the cup in the coming months and relive stories of their successful year.
Well done to Kate and all her team mates.
