A great day out this morning at Oranmore/Maree GAA Club for the Intercounty U9 blitz with Oranmore Maree, Galway, Na Piarsigh, Limerick and Sixmilebridge, Clare taking part.
It was great to meet a former 'Bridge hurler in Fergal Landy from Deerpark whose young lad Jude was playing for Oranmore. There may or may not be truth to the rumour that he is being enticed back for the upcoming Junior B championship in Clare!
Fergal was introduced to the 'Bridge Hurlers as a local celebrity and former 'Bridge hurler and the U9s duly plagued Fergal for autographs!
Galway hurler Fintan Burke was on hand to present medals at the end of the blitz and to top the day off a BBQ and Ice Cream van were in hand for the hungry Hurlers (and coaches!)
Some great connections made on a fantastic day and already plans are being developed for return dates in Na Piarsigh and Sixmilebridge.
Well done to our 3 U9 teams who hurled great on the day and were led by our 3 captain's for the day, Aaron Fitzpatrick, Oisin Collins and Liam Kearney.
