The under 5s training has now been up and running for over 2 months. This is being led by the Kilmurry hurling gurus Brian Culbert and Jimmy Corbett.

They have been training every Friday evening with the focus on basic skills, feet movement and overall hurling development through fun activities. The U5 boys have been really enjoying the sessions and the two coaches are very appreciative of the parents jumping in to assist them throughout these sessions.

The boys were treated to ice cream by the minor club during the recent temperature spike but they were informed it was down to how well they were playing!. One child commented "I'll play hurling everyday now"

In fact treats have become a regular item with the U5s with the head of the Culbert clan, Tom C arriving in one evening with a bag of treats. Not too sure if this S&C plan is in other clubs!!

One recent session with Brian on newborn duties and Jimmy hitting the west for the Willie Clancy, the U5s got to step up to the "Senior" training of the U7s. It was great to see them adapt into the session & show off all they had learnt so far. They were excited to have has this opportunity and were going back to Brian & Jimmy to train even harder in anticipation of the step up for next yr.

Training continues every Friday for all under 5s and we encourage anyone who wants to start their hurling careers to call down for just 1 session & take it from there. All newcomers are very welcome.
