Our Senior's played Newmarket on Fergus in round 1 of the Championship Friday evening last in Shannon Camogie field.

A very competitive first half gave a half time score of Sixmilebridge 1-5 Newmarket on Fergus 1-6. Bridge full back line Aoife Hurley, Kiah Mellet and Deanna Considine stood out with excellent defending in the first half. Aoibhín McNamara scored a cracker of a goal on 20 minutes. Sarah Loughnane’s free taking kept the Bridge in it throughout.

The Bridge worked really hard throughout the second half in serious heat. An early goal gave Newmarket a 4 point lead that they never lost and in the last 10 minutes they pulled away with a third goal. Players of note: Kiah Mellet, Deanna Considine, Aoife Hurley, Máire McGrath, Aoibhín McNamara.
