Jun C Premier Championship, Round 2
Venue - Cratloe
Referee - Fergal Gray

The Junior C team had a good victory over Wolfe Tones in round 2 of the championship on Saturday, the game was played in Cratloe and players and spectators were able to enjoy the fantastic sunny weather.

The game started off with end to end hurling, the McPhillips brothers teaming up on the Wolfe Tones side to create a number of goal chances but their finishing let them down on a few occasions. The Bridge started well also with a point from Kieran Liddane and then Ronan Hayes was able to pluck an incoming high ball before twisting and launching a rocket to the roof of the net. The half time score saw the 'Bridge ahead by 3 on a scoreline of Smb 1-8 to Wolfe Tones 2-2. Liddane had 3 from play, and combined with Hayes' goal and 5 from placed balls by Stiofan Fitzpatrick.

The second half saw Hayes add another goal and point to his tally and Fitzpatrick continued converting the placed balls. Morgan O' Connell introduced after half time added a point also. The 'Bridge finished with Liddane, Fitzpatrick and Hayes scoring 3 points from play. Wolfe Tones had a late goal, 3 frees and 4 points from play in the second half to leave the deficit at the final whistle at 6 points on a score line of Sixmilebridge 3-9 v Wolfe Tones 2-18.

Good for Sixmilebridge were Kieran Liddane with an outstanding display at wing forward and Stiofan Fitzpatrick on frees and general play worked hard.

Round 3 of the championship will see the 'Bridge take on Scarriff who have won both of their opening 2 games. This will be a must win game for the Juniors if they are to progress to the Semi Finals.
