On Saturday morning at 11am in Shannon Camogie Field, our u13A team took on Kilmaley in the U13A semi final.

It was an epic battle with Kilmaley taking the lead in the first few minutes. Céire McNamara was the first to score for the 'Bridge with a point from play. Ava Moloney followed this up with a goal in the fourth minute. Lily Flannery popped a lovely point over and Sarah Conlon scored a great goal, leaving the game even going into the break at 2:2 to 2:2.

After half time the Bridge girls battled hard, and Sarah Farrell fought hard in goals, making many great saves. It was the 12th minute before a score came from the 'Bridge side, but it was one worth waiting for. It came from wing back, Halle Keogh, who lobbed in a high ball which fell beautifully into the back of the net. Kilmaley fought hard and with less than a minute of normal play time left, they were ahead by two points. However, the ball landed in the hands of our superb corner forward, Céire McNamara who managed to land the ball into the corner of the net from an impossible angle!

Final score: Sixmilebridge 4-2 Kilmaley 3-4

A great team effort all round and a special mention to Shona Ryan, Halle Keogh, Céire McNamara and Sarah Farrell who were outstanding.

We now go on to play Newmarket on Fergus in the u13A final on the 16th October.
