After our first Senior County title win in 1977 we had a wonderful adventure in the Munster club campaign when we defeated Len Gaynors Kilruane McDonaghs on a score of 1-07 to 0-08 to setup a final on December 18th 1977 against the Cork Champions St Finbarrs.

Many Clare hurling gaels and Bridge stalwarts still speak of the famous Munster Club final in Tulla in 1977 when the kingpins of Cork Hurling and All Ireland Club Hurling St Finbarrs came to Clare for the Munster Final. The 'Barrs team included Donal O'Grady, John Allen, Charlie McCarthy and the great Jimmy Barry Murphy while the Bridge included All Stars Noel Casey and Sean Stack. The game ended in a draw 3-05 a piece with a heavy fog descending on the pitch throughout the game. It was The Case who saved the day for the Bridge with a fine individual effort 3 minutes from timr to level the game

Unfortunately we came out on the wrong side in the replay in January on a score of 2-08 to 0-6. The Barrs went on to win the All Ireland club that year so the Bridge boys knew we they were not far off the mark.
