All coaches, players, supporters and friends are welcome this Thursday night to celebrate 1997 .... 25 years on.

1997 was a historic year for Clare hurling when the Banner boys completed a first ever and never since repeated double in Croke Park on 14th September 1997. The role the 'Bridge club played in this day was significant with 5 players (Davy fitzgerald, Michael O'Halloran, Niall Gilligan, John Chaplin, Christy Chaplin) on the senior squad and 3 players on the Minor squad which included captain John Reddan, Stiofan Fitzpatrick and john O'Meara.

On the club scene 1997 was one of our most successful underage culminating in the following titles landing on Garney side:

1997 Under 21A Hurling Championship

1997 Minor A Hurling Championship

1997 U16A Hurling Championship

1997 U14 A Hurling Championship

1997 U14 Feile na nGael (Clare)

As is now a tradition in the club the 25 year reunions of winning Minor and U21 winning teams takes place over the Christmas - this year we are gathering on Thursday night December 29th from 8pm in Gillys Bar. There were some talented musicians on those squads including Pat Hayes and Mark Donnellan who are rumored to be lined up for a performance as we look to relive tales of that great year in Clare and bridge hurling so a great night is guaranteed.

For the record the U21 team defeated Clarecastle in their final and were captained by Niall Gilligan while the Minors defeated St Josephs Doora Barefield in their final and were captained by Stiofan Fitzpatrick.
