Club Chairman Syl O' Connor late in 2022 requested that the club organise a Parish League for 2023 to follow on from the very successful 2022 Parish League. The 2022 Parish League was held in Lees Road and the final in O' Garney Park and the competition was won by a very strong Kilmurry side. The 2023 Parish League moves indoors to the new Arena and will take place in the coming weeks in January and February. Those from Kilmurry in our parish have already contacted the Club Executive querying if the split in Area teams to Senior and Junior was because they had proven to be too strong in the 2022 competition. The Club Executive have denied that this is the case and have indicated the split is purely for logistical reasons. Syl O' Conor of the Mountain, and Club chairman, has also said that there is no truth whatsoever that this was done to give the Mountain a chance of winning the competition and he refuted the accusation that he was using his position as Chairman to influence the outcome of the competition. (Michel Platini's recent woes come to mind!)

Anyway the following is how the competition will work for 2023:

There will be an adult Senior and Junior Parish League. The results of the Areas Senior and Junior Teams will be linked and the Area with the highest combined points (2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw) will win the overall Parish League competition.

Senior Parish League - Cappa, Kilmurry, Village, Mountain (Each team plays every other team twice, therefore 6 games each)

Junior Parish League - Cappa, Kilmurry, Village, Mountain (Each team plays every other team twice, therefore 6 games each)

Management Teams and Playing Panels are currently being drawn up. Best of luck to all teams!
