Sixmileridge Gaa Launch Night
The launch night will take place next Saturday night, 5th November at 8pm in the Gaa Hall at O' Garney Park for our new proposed Sixmilebridge Gaa Arena at our Cappa Lodge site in Sixmilebridge.
The club is appealing to everyone to support this development which will serve as a skills development facility for our underage players especially and a winter training facility for all players in both the camogie and hurling clubs.
We are encouraging everyone to sign up on the night to the Standing order for the Club Lotto which costs €5 per week for 3 lotto tickets. All that you will need on the night to sign up is your Bank Account No. and your Sort Code. These details will be input on the night to our special Sixmilebridge Gaa Arena brochure which will then be used to process the satnding orders.

Speakers on the night will include the great Marty Morrisey, a proud Clare man, Gaa man, Sports commentator and Tv presenter. Marty has a long association with Clare Gaa and indeed the Mullagh man ploughed his trade initially commentating on Gaa matches all around Clare but he is now more likely to be heard presenting and ccommentating on All Ireland finals or Olympic games events.
Also speaking on the night will be the former National hurling director Paudie Butler who at one stage was christened the 'hurling evangelist'. Anyone that has attended a coaching course given by Paudie or heard him speak will understand why that name was chosen for him. The Tipperary man hails from the famous Drom Inch club and played with the Tipperary senior team. Paudie also managed the Tipperary minors and Laois Senior hurling teams in the late 90s and early 00s.
Former Clare camogie star Deirdre Murphy who was once named as the Clare County Camogie Player of the Decade also worked for 6 years for the Camogie Association as the Munster Development Coordinator and she is currently the GAA Development Officer in University Limerick. The Clooney Quin native has been involved in every facet of camogie club life from helping to set up clubs to winning county finals and Captaining Clare to win the 2008 Junior All Ireland in Croke Park and winning the 2012 Munster Senior Final v Cork.
Davy Fitzgerald needs no introduction. The Sixmilebridge man has done it all with club and county and in 3 magical years, 1995, 1996 and 1997 he won the All Irealnd club with Sixmilebridge and 2 All Irelands with Clare. To top all that off, Davy also managed Clare to another All ireland in 2013 and aNational Hurling Leage in 2016. Davy will be familiar to Rte viewers for another reason also as he is regularly seen on Tv participating in irelands Fittest Family.
Sixmilebridge Gaa Arena - Previous Press Release
We have secured full planning permission for the Arena and we are now starting to fundraise via the Club Lotto which is now being offered by standing order at €5 per week for 3 lotto tickets giving you a great chance to win the jackpot which can reach a maximum of €20,000. There will be a new minimum jackpot of €3,000 (an increase of €1,000) with 10 lucky dips of €30 (an increase of 5 extra winners weekly) and if not won the lotto will rise by €300 per week (an increase in the rise by €100 per week).
There will be a great nights entertainment provided at the Arena Launch Night with lots of hurling and camogie folk present. There will be some light refreshments offered also.
The special guests on the night will be Marty Morrissey and Paudie Butler as well as our own club stalwarts including current and former county stars and all stars such as Davy Fitzgerald, Chloe Morey, Niall Gilligan, Sean Stack, Mike O' Halloran to name but a few.
MC on the night will be Syl O' Connor.

We are appealing to all parents, grandparents, future parents, present players, past players, members of the community to support this development. The facilities that are currently in place were developed by the club for the players of the past and present, lets work together to add to that hard work by delivering the Sixmilebridge Gaa Arena for the children of the future.
