Sixmilebridge AGM Report 2016

The 2016 Sixmilebridge AGM concluded with a reconvened meeting on Tuesday the 7th of December and was well attended over the two nights. Chairman Paddy opened the meeting and thanked everyone for coming. Minutes from the previous AGM and the Secretary’s report were read out by outgoing Secretary Louise Corbett. Treasurer Joan Keogh gave the financial report for the year.

Chairman Paddy Meehan thanked Joan and Louise for all their work during the year. He thanked the club’s sponsor Shannon Precision, the executive of the club, the committee, the match day officials, the bingo and lotto committees, Pat Fitzgerald and Debbie Reddan for organizing the golf classic.

Paddy then paid special tribute to John Corbett, Tony Downes and Pat Chaplin and said that we are indebted to those 3 people and without them there wouldn’t be a club.

Paddy went on to compliment the people that have started working on the new Sixmilebridge Gaa Arena and said that it showed massive initiative on their behalf and it was an exciting project to be involved in and is being supported massively by the community.

Paddy also congratulated the Junior A and Junior C teams on winning their respective championships and acknowledged the efforts of all teams. He congratulated Ballyea and wished them well in the All Ireland Club semi final. He also wished the new county management well for the coming year. Paddy also wished the camogie club well in coming year.

A healthy discussion from managers and the floor then took place on hurling matters and issues such as Fundraising and membership.

A special mention was given to Mikey Quinn, Gerry Liddane, Sean Griffin and Louise Corbett all stepping down from their roles after a number of year’s hard work and commitment to the club.

The club social is taking place Jan 13th 2017 at Bunratty Castle Hotel.
