Well done to our school camogie players who have had some powerful performances in recent weeks.

The girls of St. Finnachtas NS Sixmilebridge had have qualified for the semi-final which will take place on the 9th of June against Crusheen in Sixmilebridge. Thanks to Anna, Faye, Sarah and Rachel for the insightful view on their games to date here:

Sixmilebridge NS vs. Tulla NS

The first round of the Cumann na mBunscol Camogie Championship took place for Sixmilebridge NS girls’ camogie team on Thursday, 4 th May, in Tulla. The girls were playing Tulla NS. It was a very tough match considering the harsh conditions, but the girls played excellently throughout. In the first half, Sarah Conlon got the first goal. It was an excellent goal off her left side. In the second half, Sarah scored again and got an excellent point. Anna Madigan also got a brilliant goal in the second half! Brooke O’Connell scored an outstanding point from a free as well! Lucy Conroy also scored a brilliant point. The final score was 2-3

(SMB) 0-2 (Tulla).

Sixmilebridge NS vs. Cratloe NS

On Thursday the 10 th of May, Sixmilebridge NS camogie team went to Cratloe to play Cratloe NS. The weather conditions were good compared to the weather the previous week. There was a strong team performance displayed on the day. The team had a great win, with goals from Lily Flannery, Brooke O’Connell, Sarah Conlon, Aizea Keane, Lucy Conroy and Sarah Conroy. Points were scored by Aizea, Sarah Conlon and Brooke. We had a great day out and enjoyed playing with our friends.

Sixmilebridge vs Kilkishen

The girls’ camogie match took place on Thursday, 18th of May in Sixmilebridge. We were playing a tough Kilkishen team. We got off to a good start with Lily Flannery scoring a goal from a free. After Lily’s goal, Kilkishen came back stronger and scored a point. After their point, Eimear made a great puck out to the wing. Lily caught it and passed it in to Sarah Conlon and Sarah scored an outstanding point. At half time we were ahead. Kilkishen came back with a stronger forward line but our backs were ready for them. Lucy Conroy scored a whopping 3 goals and 2 points. The match ended 5-7 to 2-2. HON THE BRIDGE!


Well done to Grace McNamara and Clonmoney NS

Well done also to Grace McNamara and her Clonmoney team who have qualified for the county final with wins over Kilmurry, Ogonnolloe and Ballyea.
