On Monday night we had a special guest at training when Laura McInerney visited the boys to give a talk on Nutrition and the importance of healthy eating. This initiative was introduced by the Minor club a number of years ago for young teens (U13 team) and is aimed at educating our young hurlers on the basics around:

  • Healthy snacks to eat pre and post training
  • Foods to avoid pre/post training

As part of the talk, Laura who is a wonderful supporter of the club and always so giving of her time demonstrated to the boys how to make a smoothie as well as cooking basic snacks such as omlettes and pancakes. Big Thanks again to Laura who ran 3 demonstrations to cater for the 52 boys in attendance - If we see a Michelin star restaurant opening in the Bridge in years to come by one of these boys it will all be down to Laura - Neil Og might be the man going by the photos.

Word on the street is there wasn't a piece of fruit to be got in the local shops last night as boys gathered their ingredients for their own secret recipes to their own Bridge Smoothie.
