135 superstars took over O' Garney this week for the Cúl Camp.
The camp catered for 6 to 13 year olds who travelled from both inside the parish and returning visitors from England and the U.S.A. to avail of the excellent coaching on offer.
The children took part in hurling skills, fundamental movement skills and fun games with a break in play on Tuesday morning for the visit of Clare Camogie All Ireland winners Sarah Loughnane, Olivia Phelan and Captain Sinead O' Keeffe with the All Ireland Junior Camogie and National League Cups.
The Camp leagues started on Wednesday with multiple breaks in play on Thursday with not one but 3 sets of visitors ensuring every child left with signed hurleys worthy of a place on ebay!
First up were Clare Senior stars Diarmaid Ryan & Susan Daly who took questions and signed jerseys, hurleys and helmets.
Next in the gate were the victorious U15A's Rory Chaplin, Zak Phelan and manager Tadgh Keogh.
After lunch a roar went up as camp coaches Matthew O' Halloran and Eoin Carey were joined by Mark Sheedy with the Munster and All Ireland Minor Cups.
Keeping it in the family the recently victorious U13 Academy captain Zack Sheedy was surrounded by fellow teammates (taking part in the camp) when he arrived with the U13 Academy A Shield.
The club was well represented with local coaches Aoibhin McNamara, Finia O' Brien, Matthew O' Halloran, Niamh Lyons, Sinead Hogan and Roisin O' Grady on the coaching team organised by Clare GAA. Thanks also to Sinead, Zoe, Niamh, Sara, Cathal, Liam, Eoin and Philip.
Head coach Jimmy Corbett said "We are very lucky to have so many talented coaches available for the camp. Their enthusiasm and session plans kept the players active and entertained all week. Thanks to all parents, grandparents etc. who registered and brought the children to/from the camp. Thanks to the behind the scenes team led by John Corbett for having the pitch, stand and toilets ready for the camp each morning."
The clash of the ash was also to be heard with the clubs swap box proving useful for spare hurleys.
