This league contest took place in ideal conditions on Saturday evening. Sixmilebridge fielding without twelve of their usual starting team, was always going to be a tough challenge against a full strength Clooney side. Clooney got off to an ideal start rattling the Bridge net in the opening minutes. Deirdre Murphy pointed soon after. Olivia Phelan was next to score popping one over the bar with the first Bridge score. Clooney went on to dominate the scoreboard until Aiveen O'Shea converted a free. Clooney went on to add more to their tally. At half time Clooney had advanced a lead of 6-7 to 2 points. Sixmilebridge made one switch at half time Rachel Kennedy replaced Muireann Scanlon due to injury. A few minutes in to the second half Keelin Lyons scored a goal from a free after a challenge on O'Shea. Clooney found target in the Bridge net from a long range free. Clooney pointed a few more before Lyons split the posts this time. Despite a good Bridge effort it was never enough to challenge Clooney in the way they would have liked.
