As the sun shone over the country, our U14 hurlers had plenty of reason to enjoy the summer feeling. After 2 draws and a win in the group stage we progressed to the Quarter Final of the Christy Ring Cup. Our opposition were Abbeyside of Waterford. A strong 1st half display saw the lads lead by 1-06 to 0-00. The 2nd half was evenly fought but the Bridge added a further to 1-02 to our tally to eventually run out 2-08 to 0-04 winners.
Tomorrow now marks a big occasion in the lives of our young players as they go in search of our clubs 2nd National Fèile title and 1st since the scorching summer of 1995. At 12:15 in Pairc Sheamuis Stiofan (James Stephens GAA Club, Kells Road) they will contest the All Ireland Semi Final v Buffers Alley of Wexford. An All Ireland Final appearance awaits the winner at 4:45pm in Nowlan Park.
We would encourage all supporters available to make the trip & support the lads in what could be a historic occasion in the careers of these players.
