U8 Camogie September Report
The girls at U8 have shown immense dedication and effort in improving their hurling skills over the past several weeks. Their progress has been remarkable, with noticeable improvement across all players. So far this year they have participated in 35 training session and took part in both Morey and Cul camp during the summer. Since July, they have had two GO Games Blitzes facing teams from Clooney Quin, Ballyea, Woulfe Tone and Scariff Ogonnelloe. They have also played four matches meeting Kilmaley, Doora Barefield, Newmarket on Fergus and Cratloe. With so many matches under their belts, the team may soon need to venture beyond the county to find new opponents!
The Bee Loughnane tournament was held on the 14th of September, hosted by Wolfe Tones, who provided a memorable morning in honour of Bridget. The girls were thrilled to see the Liam McCarthy cup up close, with special appearances from hurling stars Brian Lohan, Aron Shanagher and Rory Hayes. The excitement didn’t stop there- an ice cream van and a spread of delicious treats added to the day’s enjoyment, thanks to the warm hospitality of that Wolfe Tones.
It has been a busy and rewarding summer for the girls and their dedication has paid off in the tremendous strides they’ve made. As we move forward with a few more matches and training sessions over the coming week, we will soon communicate plans for the winter months, covering November through to February.
A big thank you to all the coaches for their hard work and dedication over the past few weeks. Your effort has been invaluable in helping the girls grow and improve. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the parents for consistently bringing the girls to training and supporting them through the season Your commitment has been instrumental in their progress!
