First Year Hurling
Lots of our young hurlers have moved into secondary school in recent weeks with boys spread across St Caimins, St Patricks Comprehensive, St Flannans College, Ard Scoil Rís and St Josephs Tulla - The advice from their U13 coaches was to make sure they joined the hurling teams in school as a hurley and ball is always a great conversation starter and a way to make new friends. Today St. Flannans College was a hive of activity with a monster 1st year blitz taking part involving 10 schools from around the county including the hosts with 7 teams, St. Caimins Shannon (2 teams), St. Patricks Comprehensive (1 team), Scariff (2 teams), Ennistymon, Rice College and St. Munchins.
Well done to all involved! Thank you to Peter, Mark and Liam from the County Board for running such a good show.

U17 Hurling
The Clare U17 Hurling competition started last week which is ideal preparation for schools for the upcoming Munster competitions (Dean Ryan etc).
In Round 1 St. Caimins Shannon defeated Scariff with a number of Bridge boys playing including Colm McManus, Dougie Brew and Larry Howard who made up the full back line. Dylan McInerney was at 6 while Cian Mullins (Wing Forward) and Liam Flannery (Corner Forward) brought our count to 6 players. Cian scored 1-03 and Liam raised 2 white flags.

The Bridge had representation via Conor Keogh in goals for St. Flannans while Cathal Ryan (Wing Back) and Joe Reidy were part of the St Josephs Tulla team.
