Fundraising for Cappa Lodge Pitch Drainage Project
Our latest Fundraising drive will have the Cappa Lodge Pitch Drainage Project as the focus. The Cappa Lodge pitch is a wonderful second field that has been developed over the years and when dry is as good as any pitch in the country. However the pitch does need the drainage to be upgraded to modern standards and to ensure that the pitch is available for longer periods of the year. This would cater for our evergrowing population of young hurlers, young camogie players and their adult equivalents.
It is expected that work will commence later this year on Phase 1 of the Pitch Drainage project but this will come at a cost and we are hoping that our latest fundraining effort will help to drive this project. Spearheaded by club Chairman Syl O'Conor, the project will help in our ongoing effort to modernise and improve our facilities.
Syl said - 'the club have made wonderful strides over the past number of years with the upgrade and improvement of our facilities, the Arena shows what can be done within a community when the support is there and we are hoping to build on that suppport with our latest project to improve the drainage of the Cappagh Lodge pitch. The drainage work would allow the pitch to be useable for longer periods of the year and would help to give our main pitch some breathing space so it too can be kept in top condition for our players'
