Yesterday our U11 Hurlers got the wonderful experience of playing in the Gaelic Grounds as part of the Munster GAA initiative in opening up provincial grounds.

We assembled in the home of Limerick hurling at 1PM for a tour of the grounds by Limerick Footballer Peter Nash - He took us to the home dressing room and explained the match day routine for the Limerick team, dressing room seating arrangements and gave some insights into the diet of the players coming up to big games.

Following this we visited the analysis room where Limerick review video footage before training and get insights into opposition players.

Finally we were taken to the Birds nest on the Mackey stand where commentators and Cameras locate on match day for a top class view of the stadium.

Following the tour we played 3 games against Doon (Limerick), Monaleen (Limerick) and Kiladangan (Tipperary).
The boys adapted to their surroundings straight away and would not be out of place in the Munster Championship the way they hurled.
Following the final game the organizers needed a team to fill in for some clubs who never showed and no better boys than the Bridge U11s to stay on and play 3 more games against Caherline (Limerick) and Templeglantine (Limerick).
All in all a wonderful day of hurling - well done to the boys and thanks to the parents who waited on for the extra games, The boys had a well earned rest from training on Saturday morning and will be back at it on Monday with more blitzes on the way in the coming weeks. Thanks also to the Bridge Ultras who appear under the scoreboard no matter where the club seems to be playing!
