One player that the Junior B's will need to plan without for 2019, is Martin Conlon. Martin announced to the squad after yesterdays Junior B 1/4 final defeat to Inagh/Kilnamona that he was finally hanging up his boots. Martin is 42 years young and has been a massive stalwart to the club for a long number of years. Martin made his adult hurling debut for the Sixmilebridge seniors a quarter of a century ago in 1993. He has played at all levels with the Bridge and Clare as well as senior hurling and football with St. Flannans college in Ennis.

His goal in a Minor hurling championship game against Wolfe Tones back in 1993 is said to be one of the finest ever seen in O'Garney Park while his second finest performance was in Strictly Come dancing in December 2017 in the marquee. Martin became the first 'Bridge man to hoist the Junior C cup two years ago when he was captain and he has been an unbelievable servant to the club on the field of play.

This year he is coach to the O'Callaghans Mills Senior hurling team, Clare camogie team and the Bridge Bucks U8 squad. We wish Martin the very best in his retirement from his playing career and look forward to his next chapter on the coaching fields with the Bridge Bucks.
